Mission

The Translational Pain Research Program at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital advances and accelerates the identification of new treatments to bring relief to and improve the lives of patients suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions.

The primary goal of our ongoing research is to improve pain management by determining mechanisms that cause different types of pain and systematically evaluating new drugs (in Phases Ia [“first-in-human”] to IIb clinical trials) that selectively improve different components of pain conditions.
